Not long after Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt joined forces in their spy thriller Mr. & Mrs. Smith, romance sparked between the two leads, eventually leading to the duo tying the knot. And while Pitt and Jolie partook in filming their fair share of steamy scenes onscreen prior to meeting each other, the Seven Star allegedly swore off intimate scenes from movies for Jolie.
Although the years following Mr. & Mrs. Smith witnessed them becoming the most talked-about couple in Hollywood, things eventually ameliorated, leading to the duo parting ways. But reports emerged that it was his time with The Dark Knight Rises Star Marion Cotillard in Allied that kickstarted the downfall of his bond with the Lara Croft Star.

Brad Pitt’s Alleged Affair on Allied Sets Reportedly Started Cracks in His Marriage
Rumors sparked back in 2016 of an alleged affair between Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard, which Angelina Jolie discovered through a private investigator per Page Six. Jolie felt the Seven Star “was fooling around with her [Marion Cotillard] on the set”, which allegedly turned out true, leading to the Maleficent Star filing for divorce. However, sources close to Collitard denied the allegations, insisting she was still with her partner Guillaume Canet. TheTDKR Star further came forward to comment on the intimate scene she shared with Pitt, explaining that it was awkward. She told US Weekly:
“We rehearse and had a very determined choreography, and then it allows you freedom. When you know exactly what your body will do, then you can act and you can be free to give the emotions and give the feelings because you won’t think, ‘What am I going to do next? Am I going to go on top of him?’ It’s an awkward situation,”
While it can’t be said for certain if the two had an affair on the sets of Allied or not, Pitt’s marriage with Jolie eventually fell apart after a tumultuous divorce trial.

Prior to the affair allegations, TMZ originally reported that the turbulence in their marriage had nothing to do with another person and Jolie’s decision was solely based on Pitt’s parenting methods. Per the reports, the Original Sin Star was fed up with Brad Pitt’s alcohol and weed consumption, which reportedly worsened his anger problems and his behavior with the kids.
