It’s amazing how Logan connected more hugs than punches: Floyd Mayweather (USA) vs Logan Paul (USA) | BOXING fight, HD | HO
Professional american unbeaten boxer Floyd Mayweather with nickname “Money” (50–0, 27 KOs – pre-fight record) against american YouTuber, artist and boxer Logan Paul with nickname “The Maverick”. Exhibition boxing fight took place in Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, USA on June 6, 2021. Spectacular boxing match in HD, Highlights.
Logan Paul raised the possibility of a rematch against Floyd Mayweather after going the distance with the former five-weight world champion in Sunday’s exhibition bout.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer massively upset the odds to get through eight rounds against one of the sport’s greatest modern champions despite being predictably outclassed in the main event at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.
In doing so, he ensured that there was no winner declared, with the absence of judges at ringside meaning that Mayweather needed a knockout or stoppage to force a victory.
A delighted Paul – whose first pro fight ended in defeat to fellow YouTuber KSI in 2019 – quickly teased the prospect of another meeting with Mayweather, who at 44 was coming out of retirement for the third time in Florida.
“Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul 2? I don’t know, if I can get a little better maybe I can end it next time,” Paul joked in his post-fight interview.
However, Mayweather would not commit to any further exhibitions immediately after Sunday’s disappointment when quizzed about a potential fight with Paul’s younger brother Jake, another YouTube sensation who is making a name for himself in pro boxing and will look to move to 4-0 when he fights former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley in August.
“We don’t know what the future holds,” Mayweather said. “I’ll talk it over with my team and see where we go from here.
“You’ve got to realise that I’ve been in this sport for 25 years. I understand I’m not 21, I’m not 25, but I had fun tonight.”
Paul described Sunday’s achievement as one of the greatest moments of his life and claimed it showed that anyone can defeat the odds.
“I don’t want anyone to tell me anything is impossible ever again,” he said.
“The fact that I’m in here with one of the greatest boxers of all time proves that the odds can be beaten.
“I’m the maverick, I go right when they go left, I’m the unorthodox one, I’m the independent one and everyone has it in them.
“Everyone can beat the odds and do great things in life. I want everyone to know that.
“Floyd Mayweather, it was an honour. I hate being a d******d, I love all you guys. This is one of the greatest moments of my life. I’m happy.”
On completely defying expectations by avoiding a stoppage, Paul added: “You never know with this guy. I’m going to go home thinking Floyd let me survive, he’s one of the GOATs.
“In many ways he controls this sport, that’s what makes him great. It is an honour to grace the ring with him.”
He laughed: “He’s tough to hit! He’s old, but he’s tough to hit.”
