Fans genuinely can’t believe what Mark Zuckerberg did before UFC 298’s main-event
Fans genuinely can’t believe what Mark Zuckerberg did moments before Alexander Volkanovski and Ilia Topuria threw down at UFC 298.
Zuckerberg is a big UFC fan and trains in mixed martial arts – and was even linked with a blockbuster fight against fellow social media chief Elon Musk.
He was in attendance at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, for the stacked UFC 298.
Zuckerberg sat cageside alongside the likes of Dana White and Hunter Campbell as he had the best seat in the house for last night’s action.
He cheered on Merab Dvalishvili against Henry Cejudo as the Georgian fighter dominated his opponent to record the biggest win of his UFC career.
Dvalishvili even exchanged words with Zuckerberg during his bantamweight clash and picked up and slammed Cejudo in front of the billionaire.
Dvalishvili and Zuckerberg then embraced after the match.
But the META boss’ biggest involvement at UFC 298 was with Volkanovksi, who was making the latest defence of his UFC featherweight title.
The 39-year-old, sporting a Team Volkanovski tracksuit, walked out the Australian fighter.
He was part of his corner team during the main-event walkout before taking his seat Octagon-side.
They have trained together, building a friendship.

Unfortunately for Volkanovski, Zuckerberg did not prove to be a lucky charm as he suffered a brutal knockout defeat in the second round.
Topuria landed a huge right-hand that floored Volkanovski.
Speaking during the UFC 298 post-fight press conference, White said Volkanovski asked Zuckerberg to walk him out.
‘The Great’ is now on a two-fight losing skid, having lost to Islam Makhachev at UFC 294 last October.
He’s hoping to land a rematch against Topuria after losing the UFC featherweight title.
“Well done to him,” he said to Joe Rogan inside the Octagon. “He caught me. I was going to start working everything but he got me. Obviously, he’s a hard hitter. We knew that going in. He wasn’t meant to land that like but he did. Credit to him.
“Obviously, I’ve been champion of this featherweight division for a long time.
“He keeps mentioning Spain. Maybe we do a rematch over there in Spain.”
