MLB legend Don Mattingly’s new-look, including some stunning facial hair, is causing a stir.

It’s one hell of a transformation for the ex-New York Yankees first baseman.

Now with the Toronto Blue Jays as bench coach, Mattingly is showcasing himself as a silver fox.

Previously at the mercy of the New York Yankees’ arcane appearance policy, which only allowed a coiffured moustache, the former Bronx Bomber now looks like he’s living his best life.

Mattingly was also depicted in the The Simpsons episode ‘Homer at Bat’ in 1992.

In the show, Mr Burns constantly tells him to trim his sideburns, which the first basemen does until he has shaved off almost half his hair.

The episode, made a year earlier, eerily predicted an incident in which Mattingly was cut from the Yankees for one game due to his mullet hairstyle.

Now, though, he’s got an entire white beard – and it looks glorious.

As recently as August Mattingly was clean shaven on the bench, looking smart in Canada.

Perhaps his most dramatic style change previously was between sunglasses and regular spectacles.

A shocked baseball fan replied: “He’s one of those new age “hot” mall Santa’s.”

Another added: “Donnie baseball looks great.”

A third said: “The league better watch out.”

“He looks like a completely different guy,” replied a fourth.
