Buffalo Bills fans have found a way to show support for kicker Tyler Bass following his costly miss against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Bills were knocked out in the Divisional round on Sunday, losing 27-24. Bass had an opportunity to tie the game with under two minutes left but his field goal attempt sailed wide right, allowing KC to run the clock down and book their place in the AFC Championship Game, where they will face the Baltimore Ravens.

Bass was visibly distraught after the game and took responsibility for the loss. He has since deleted his social media pages as he has likely found himself subjected to abusive messages from fans. However, other Bills fans have shown support for him by making donations to a local cat adoption charity.

According to Buffalo News’ Katherine Fitzgerald, the Ten Lives Club has seen $22 donations pour in since Bass’ miss and had raised $7,000 via just Facebook as of early Monday evening.

The Ten Lives Club took to said platform to share that their phones were “ringing off the hook” as people were calling to contribute in Bass’ name.

“Tyler doesn’t deserve any of the hate he’s receiving,” their post read. “He’s an excellent football player and an even better person who took the time to help our organization and rescue cats last year. Leave our friend alone.”

Bills fans are known for this type of thing. They donated north of $44,000 to Andy Dalton’s foundation after he helped them clinch a playoff spot six years ago and were part of an effort that raised over $9 million for Damar Hamlin’s charity after the safety suffered cardiac arrest during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals last January.

They also supported Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa by donating to his foundation after he suffered a bad head injury toward the end of 2022.
