Stephen Curry’s unexpectedly defiant reaction after the Warriors’ shocking 9-point loss to the Raptors

Stephen Curry opens up about responding to adversity

The Golden State Warriors’ up-and-down season continues. On Sunday, the team suffered a defeat at the hands of the Toronto Raptors, in what was a night to forget for superstar Stephen Curry.

Curry finished the game with nine points, going 2-of-14 from the field (14.3%) and missing all his nine three-point attempts. Asked how concerned he was about the team’s ongoing struggle to find consistency, the four-time All-Star spoke about responding to adversity.

“The concern level grows with more nights like tonight…tough losses,” Curry said, as per 95.7 The Game. “Obviously I’ve got to play better and be more efficient, (and) find a way to get going early and give us some life. My nature when things get hard is to look at what you can do better. So I’ll stay there and respond the way I know how to do.”

The Warriors’ constant search for consistency
While there has been no significant change this season in Curry’s scoring averages, the team as a whole continues to struggle amid struggles from Curry’s supporting cast and Draymond Green’s recent suspension.

The team has been having a roller-coaster season, going on winning and losing streaks one after the other. A recent example of this showed during the Warriors’ five-game win streak during the third week of December, after which the team suddenly experienced a rise in losses. As of Sunday, the Warriors have lost five out of their last seven outings.

Regardless, Stephen Curry has shown time and time again that he can respond to adversity. His accolades are living proof. The regular season is far from over, so counting the Warriors out this early may prove to be a mistake in the coming months.
