Disappointing performance triggers major reshuffle at Golden State Warriors, with only Stephen Curry’s future guaranteed. What lies ahead for Draymond Green?

The Golden State Warriors may be thinking about massive changes in their structure

Right now, Stephen Curry still has about four or five years left playing at the highest level if we assume he doesn’t want to continue playing as LeBron James did. This season, Curry has maintained his level of performance but his teammates have been an utter disappointment to him. As a result of this, the Golden State Warriors leadership has started thinking about making renovations while still forming a new team around their biggest star. According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the Golden State Warriors are currently considering every single player up for trade. Only Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson are not being considered.

What about Draymond Green?

When they made a decision to keep Draymond Green and let Jordan Poole leave the organization, the Warriors leadership wasn’t counting on Green’s temperament to betray them. Amid his recent problems, suddenly trading him as a veteran doesn’t seem like such a far fetched idea. Draymond knows he messed up for the team that trusted him when it mattered the most to him. Currently, he is part of that group of players who can be traded at any moment but it’s up to him to recover his dignity and respect. The Warriors know they can’t waste any more time with Stephen Curry already entering the twilight of his career.

The Warriors dynasty has already played a total of 6 NBA Finals and won four of them, they could still at least get to one more but these modifications need to be made. Realistically, Klay Thompson should also manage to sign his extension but the rest of the players are not delivering lately and especially throughout the season. Making moves and being aggressive is key for the Warriors leadership before trade deadline day. We are over a month away from that deadline and the Warriors seem like they will go shopping for new talent at the expense of their own. Wednesday’s blowout loss against the Pelicans have forced the Warriors’ leadership hand.
