The Celtics remain the favorites for the NBA title even after the defeat in Indianapolis while the Pacers continue to surprise after obtaining the overwhelming 150-116 victory over Atlanta on January 6th which was one of the best offensive performances in their history.

Dragged as always, by Tyrese Haliburton, the best assist man in the NBA at 12.8 on average per game, but who will now have to stay out of action for a long time, also risking not participating in the All Star Game.

The injury was as serious as it was impressive, when the Pacers guard lost contact with the floor of the Gainbridge Fieldhouse, performing an unnatural split from which he was never able to get up.

Moments of genuine concern from the home fans and teammates as they saw Haliburton suffering on the ground, holding his left thigh and unable to get up again. Once the extent of the injury was understood, he was eventually transported to the locker room in the arms of his teammates, while he hid his suffering face under a towel.

Now we need to understand how long it will take before we see him back on the pitch, the first diagnosis was clear: strained left hamstring.

“A moment of total despair” commented the first coach of the Pacers, Rick Carlisle who is now waiting for the results of a new MRI to find out when he will have one of the best players of this NBA season at his disposal.
