Iowa star Caitlin Clark was k:n:o:c:k:e:d to the floor by fans storming the court in disturbing scenes caught on camera following loss to Ohio State… (Video in the comment!)

CAITLIN Clark was almost wrapped up in a freak accident on Sunday.

After No. 18 Ohio State pulled off a 100-92 upset against No. 2 Iowa, Ohio State fans stormed the court to celebrate.

However, as the chaos unfolded a fan collided with Clark as she was walking off the court.

The contact sent the college basketball star to the ground and multiple players and coaches sprinted over to make sure she was okay.

“It was kind of scary,” Clark said after the game.

“Could’ve caused a pretty serious injury to me and knocked the wind out of me, but luckily my teammates picked me up and got me off the court.”

Despite taking a hit, Clark didn’t have any issue with how the Ohio State fans celebrated the win.

“I could see they were storming the court, which was totally fine,” Clark said.

“Good for their students; great win for them.”

Clark said that Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith extended an apology to her after the incident.

Iowa coach Lisa Bluder also stated that Ohio State fans screamed explicit things at Clark after the game.

“You know, it’s unfortunate the game ended that way and Caitlin gets taken out on the floor,” Bluder said.

“Gets some inappropriate words yelled at her by fans, by students. That just should not happen, it should not happen.

“Our players should be safe, they should be able to walk off the floor. That’s very disappointing.”

Clark dropped a season-high 45 points in the loss, just the second of Iowa’s season, but also committed seven turnovers.

She added seven assists, three rebounds, two steals, and a block to her stat sheet as well.

“[Clark] had such a spectacular performance today, and she’s such a great player, and that should never happen,” Ohio State coach Kevin McGuff said.

“And so I feel really badly about it and hopefully it doesn’t affect her moving forward. But that is extremely unfortunate.”

Iowa was on a 15-game win streak before the loss to Ohio State, their last coming on November 16 to Kansas State.
