Sent on a defensive mission on Stephen Curry this Sunday, Dillon Brooks did a pretty good job until the end of the game and the explosion of the Warriors star. He also had to comment on the viral sequence in which he found himself.
At the end of the 3rd quarter, the Rockets had enough to be satisfied with the scenario of this meeting. Simply led by 6 points by the Warriors, they also managed to muzzle Stephen Curry, then at 2/8 on the shoot. This was without counting on the composure of the star leader, who really caught fire in the 4th QT with 14 points and 4 3-point shots scored, including an assassin on the head of Dillon Brooks:

An excellent outside defender, Brooks was logically instructed to mark Curry in order to limit his offensive impact as much as possible. However, he was unable to do anything about this crazy sequence which practically sealed the victory for Golden State (106-95). Sequence which obviously attracted a notable reaction from Steph, but also from the Houston winger, generally satisfied with his work on his opponent:
Apart from the last shot, I think I was in a good position to hinder him on all the others. But it shows that he is a great player. Even when he has a bad game, he is able to find a way to score shots at the end of the game and get his team out of a bad situation.
If he therefore considers that he has nothing to reproach himself for, Brooks does not forget to salute the brilliance of his executioner.

When I defend against the best opposing player, my mentality is to have the same mentality as he has to score baskets. If he has to work hard to create shooting position, I have to work as hard as him to make him take the hardest shots possible. And I think I did a good job on him tonight. What we missed was the switches. You have to know who is defending who and what kind of shot you want them to take.
