LeBron James‘ greatness needs no introduction. At the age of 39, Bron continues to be the cornerstone of the Los Angeles Lakers playing every night to aid his team in glory. Considering everything, it is only understandable that people want to know more about him and have a peek into his mindset. And who better to ask than someone who has played against him for a long time?

So, on Podcast P with Paul George, when the NBA legend Gilbert Arenas made a guest appearance, Dallas Rutherford, one of the panelists, asked Arenas about James’ weaknesses and Arena’s encounter with him when they played in the early 2000s. Additionally, he asked about the differences in James’ game when he played against him vs. now what he gets to watch.

Answering him, the 3x All-Star said, “He was one of those players who’s smart. He’s so smart that he plays to his strengths and never his weaknesses. So, when you say he’s not a 1 0n 1 guy, he’s not this, he knows that’s not his skill, so he’s not gonna try to do it. He’s gonna play to his perfection, and that’s hard to do.”

He further added to that and said that it is a very hard skill to master because you have to not get suckered into doing something your opponent wants you to do and LeBron James has mastered that skill. Because he knows his skills are in powering through his opponents rather than out-skilling them to prove a point which makes him a formidable opponent.

Arenas even made a hilarious comment about the 4x NBA champion and said if people think he is fast now, you have no idea as to “what was coming down the lane then.” Currently, in season 21, the King is averaging 24.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game. This is even more incredible when we look at his performance during his rookie season.

LeBron James through the years

18-year-old LeBron James shook the NBA world

On October 29, 2003, LeBron James made his highly anticipated NBA debut with the Cleveland Cavaliers against the Sacramento Kings.

At just 18 years old, the youngster put on an outstanding display, getting 25 points, 9 assists, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals.

This debut established the groundwork for what has ended up being one of the best NBA careers in history.

Despite enormous pressure and expectations, James led an unlikely Cavaliers team to the 2007 NBA Finals and demonstrated his potential with remarkable performances, including a dramatic buzzer-beating 3-pointer in the 2009 Eastern Conference finals.

So, from the time the 19x All-Star entered the league, he has been a spectacle to watch, and now, due to his hard work and dedication to the sport of basketball, he has become a global sensation.
