LeBron James Makes Massive Anthony Davis Claim While Cheering for Bronny James’ USC: “Learning from Me”

In the second consecutive game against a top team in the Western Conference, the Los Angeles Lakers secured a notable victory. This time against the Dallas Mavericks, who were celebrating Luka Doncic‘s return from an ankle injury.

Luka surged for a 30+ point triple-double. However, LeBron James had a crucial outing himself. He scored 25 points on over 50% shooting. , while contributing 8 rebounds and 8 assists, achieving a near triple-double himself. In effect, the Lakers cruised to a 127-110 victory.

After the Lakers’ feat, James hurried to the Lakers’ locker room. He did so to watch Bronny James’ ongoing USC game. So, when the post-game pressers gathered around him, James appeared unruffled by the multitude of microphones in his space; ultimately, birthing a hilarious response.

LeBron James is unfazed by the media

A savvy reporter attempted to divert James’ attention by cleverly inquiring about Bronny’s performance. However, James remained composed, offering a slow response, “he’s doing well.” When another reporter boldly addressed James directly to inquire about Anthony Davis‘ recent performances, James responded with a chuckling remark.

He stated, “He’s learning from me, how to pass out of the post.” While focused on Bronny’s game, James acknowledged that Davis has been diligently working on his skills and has shown tremendous improvement.

Yet, along with sharing the weight on Davis’ shoulders, James decided to actively lift it. He articulates that once the team starts capitalizing on Davis’ outlet passes, opponents will stop double-teaming their center. The strategic shift will not only expand the floor for the Lakers but also create numerous scoring opportunities for every player.

In the game against Dallas, Davis scored 28 points on an efficient 12-17 shooting. He also grabbed 12 rebounds and 9 assists. In the two preceding games, Davis delivered consistently strong performances; posting 27 points and 15 rebounds in one and achieving a triple-double with 15 points, 15 rebounds, and 11 assists in the other.

Anthony Davis climbed the all-time ladder in the Mavs game

During the game against Dallas, Davis etched his name in NBA history by surpassing Elton Brand at 16,827 and claiming the 103rd spot on the all-time scoring list. The next milestone in his sights will be Bob Cousy’s 16,960.

While the top 50 list may seem a distance away, Davis, with a steadfast approach, has the potential to achieve it within the next two seasons.

Currently, he is maintaining an average of 25.1 points, 12.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 2.5 blocks this season, having the statistical foundation for such an ascent.

If Davis continues with a similar scoring pace, playing at least 30 of the remaining half-season games, he is poised to climb to the 88th spot, surpassing Otis Thorpe’s 17,599 points as the season ends.

Furthermore, projecting these consistent averages over the next two seasons, with a minimum of 70 games per season, Davis could secure a position in the top 40 on the all-time scoring list.
