Jennifer Aniston is opening up about the death of her longtime friend, Matthew Perry. The actress reveals that she spoke to Perry just hours before his shocking death on October 28. Aniston heartbreakingly confessed that she and Perry had been texting before the news of his death broke. She also claimed that her former Friends co-star was doing everything in his power to be healthy and happy after years of struggling with his health.

During an interview with Variety, Jennifer Aniston got candid about Matthew Perry’s death. The Horrible Bosses star told the outlet that the actor was working hard to improve himself on many levels. “I was literally texting with him that morning. He was happy,” Aniston said of her final conversation with Perry. He had quit smoking.” She added, “He was getting in shape. “He was happy — that’s all I know.”

Following Matthew Perry’s death, a foundation was started in his name. The foundation is dedicated to honoring Perry’s life and helping others who are struggling with addiction. As for Perry’s legacy, Aniston reveals that she hopes he’s remembered for helping people. Of course, she admits that he’ll also be remembered for being funny and making everything “laugh really hard.”
