Celtics Legend Uncovers the True Cause Behind the Hairline Loss of LeBron James, Michael Jordan, and Kobe Bryant
A man’s best friend is his dog, and so is his hairline. Let us look at the NBA through this lens. The NBA boasts a lineup of insane talent and skill, past or present. For one, we have the top five scorers of all time in the League led by LeBron James, followed by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, Kobe Bryant, and Michael Jordan in that order. This pool of talent, however, lucked out on one thing.
Brimming with talent, they were not blessed with the best hairline early on. Former Celtics star Evan Turner, however, explains that there was a time when Bron had one of the best hairlines in the league but, like his other counterparts, fell victim to the game.
The game and everything that comes with it take a toll
In a recent episode of the Point Forward podcast, hosts Andre Iguodala and Evan Turner asses our top scorers’ hairlines. Turner addresses how people make fun of and throw shade at Bron’s hair, and says, “Go back to ’03, Bron had one of the greatest hairlines of all time.” However, like many other stars such as MJ and Kobe, “the responsibilities of the world, the NBA, the game bro, that’s gonna wear you down,” Turner adds.
The weight of the responsibility and pressure, trying to break records and signing multi-million dollar deals, and all the stress that comes with it, play a huge role in the early recession of these stars’ hairlines. “This s*** [hairline] starts creeping back ASAP,” the Celtics legend adds. Andre sums it all up with, “The top five scorers of all time, they got with the hairline.” Well, there you have it. You can’t have everything in life.
Andre adds that MJ’s hair started receding when he was about 25. This is true because if we trace it back, His Airness went completely bald by 1989. Karl Malone, on the other hand, also had a similar experience where the hairline started pushing back very early on. As a result, he was reportedly known for having a shaved head for the most part.
If we look at LeBron’s current hair, it looks pretty incredible, unlike the past, especially during the 2010s era. Many believe that King James had undergone hair transplant surgery but he has never publicly admitted it or spoken about it, leaving fans guessing.
Have you seen an improvement in LeBron’s hair recently? Who do you think has the worst hairline currently in the NBA?
