The Los Angeles Lakers are 1-1 following the All-Star break. LeBron James and Co. lost to the Warriors on Thursday and beat the San Antonio Spurs on a back-to-back yesterday. A major reason for the Lakers’ loss against the Warriors was the absence of LeBron James.

The 39-year-old got ruled out for Thursday’s game due to a lingering ankle injury that has haunted him throughout the season. However, LeBron returned last night and dropped 30 points on Victor Wembanyama and Co.

The Lakers will face the Phoenix Suns tomorrow. Unfortunately, LeBron James and Anthony Davis have been downgraded following their impressive performance last night.

According to the Lakers injury report, LeBron and AD’s status for the Suns game is questionable. That means there is a chance the superstar duo might not suit up against Kevin Durant and Co.

LeBron has been dealing with left ankle peroneal tendinopathy for several weeks. He missed two straight games due to the injury before returning last night against the Spurs. After yesterday’s win, LeBron had this to say about his injury, “Ankle held up pretty good, little soar.”

It is clear that LeBron’s ankle has not fully recovered and has been bothering him for a long time. Meanwhile, Anthony Davis has been dealing with bilateral Achilles tendinopathy and left hip spasm. Just like LeBron, AD has been playing through his injury and has been in and out of the lineup.

The Lakers are gunning for a higher seed before the playoffs begin and every game is crucial. So, it will be a massive blow for them if either LeBron or Davis miss tomorrow’s game.

Injury is the biggest concern for LeBron James and Co.

After a rough patch following their in-season tournament win, the Lakers have picked things up recently. They have played great in February and improved to a 31-27 record. LeBron James and Co. aim to bag a higher seed and avoid the play-in tournament to get into the playoffs.

While the Lakers finally look in great rhythm, injury is the biggest concern for them going forward. Apart from LeBron and AD, Cam Reddish is also listed as questionable on the Lakers injury report.

The Lakers have failed to play with a healthy roster for the majority of the season, costing them many games.

Even LeBron believes that staying healthy is a priority for the team. “Try to get as healthy as we can going down the stretch. That has been the Achilles heel for the last couple of years,” King James said after last night’s win.

If the Lakers stay healthy for the rest of the season, they have a legitimate chance at repeating what they did last season and making a deep run in the playoffs.
