The All-Star break is over and teams now get ready for the last stretch of the regular season.
This could arguably be the most crucial juncture of the entire season, and the Golden State Warriors start this phase in a very precarious position.
However, slowly but surely, the Warriors are showing signs of a resurgence. They have secured victories in 8 of their last 10 games, including a thrilling win over their division rivals, the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Dubs pulled off a crucial 128-110 victory over the Lakers.
While players like Andrew Wiggins and Jonathan Kuminga made significant contributions, Stephen Curry stole the spotlight with his 32-point performance.
Apart from scoring 32 points, Steph also dished out eight dimes and shot 6-13 from downtown.
Curry’s impressive recent performances have catapulted the Warriors up the table into the 10th spot of the Western Conference standings.
Following his exceptional display, head coach Steve Kerr called Curry the “most skilled player” that he has ever seen.
This isn’t the first time that Kerr has reserved such high praise for Steph.
Kerr complemented Curry for his exceptional ball-handling and shooting abilities back in December 2023.
He said, “There’s never been anybody in terms of the shooting and ball-handling ability and ability to shoot from the distances he shoots from and the finishing in the lane… I’ve never seen anybody as skilled with the ball as Steph Curry.”
Kerr’s assertion has raised eyebrows among many fans, as the 58-year-old HC has won championships alongside NBA icons like Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen (with the Bulls), and Tim Duncan and David Robinson (with the Spurs).
Steph, in his illustrious career, has created a unique legacy, which few icons could rival. But could he lead the Warriors to another title and enhance his reputation further?
Do the Warriors still have a chance at the 2024 NBA title?
The Dubs have left themselves with a mountain to climb after their lackluster start to the season.
However, they have begun their ascent in a very promising manner. With less than 30 games remaining, the Warriors currently occupy the 10th spot in the Western Conference standings, with 28 wins from 56 games.
The Warriors’ recent string of victories, with seven wins in their last eight games, has instilled hope among fans that they could be a formidable contender in the playoffs.
Furthermore, the continued brilliance of Steph Curry, along with the emergence of youngsters like Brandin Podziemski and Jonathan Kuminga, has bolstered confidence within the Warriors organization.
However, the Warriors still aren’t considered a legitimate title contender. What are your thoughts? Can the Dubs win the title? Let us know in the comments below!
