Travis Kelce, Jason Kelce Share Emotional Statement on Tragic Super Bowl Parade Shooting

On Monday, brothers Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce issued an emotional statement to address the heartbreaking shooting that happened during the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade on Valentine’s Day.

Before a pre-taped episode of their New Heights podcast is released on Wednesday, the Kelces wanted to talk about the painful tragedy that enveloped Kansas City first. Along with it, the brothers encouraged their fans and followers to help in the team’s efforts to raise funds for the victims and the families affected by the horrible attack.

In the video they released on Instagram, Travis addressed the message to the followers of their show called 92 percenters. He noted that before their pre-recorded Wednesday episode drops, “it didn’t feel right without you guys hearing from us first.”

Jason then continued with a rather emotional message, saying: “We just wanted to say, our hearts go out to all of the victims, their families, Chiefs Kingdom, and really all of Kansas City. That was really there on a day to try and celebrate the community and it’s unfortunate and deeply tragic the events that occurred.”

The Philadelphia Eagles center continued, “We also want to thank the local law enforcement that sprang into action, the first responders. on scene. And anybody that’s been willing to help those affected by this tragedy.”

The Kelces added that they are still “figuring out a way” to be involved in all of the efforts being done to help the victims. For now, however, they hope that the fans can come together as well and support the Chiefs’ fund aimed at aiding those affected.

“But we plan on doing something in the future. We’re trying to get that situated right now. Have some ideas, but just make sure you’re following and we’ll be telling you guys in ways that we’re going to try and get involved,” Jason furthered.

It’s not the first time that Travis Kelce has reacted to the tragic Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade shooting, but it’s definitely great to hear from him and his brother on what they are doing to help.

In the wake of the horrific attack, the Chiefs tight end got emotional and shared his pain for the whole city.

“I am heartbroken over the tragedy that took place today. My heart is with all who came out to celebrate with us and have been affected. KC, you mean the world to me,” Kelce wrote on X.

On the other hand, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes said he’s praying for the community. He also proceeded to start a charity called #KCStrong in order to provide more assistance for the victims.

The Chiefs parade shooting took the life of one person and injured 22 others, many of whom were children. Some of the injured remain in critical and serious conditions as well.

As for the attackers, two suspects were arrested and charged, though details about the attackers are being kept private since they are both juveniles.
