Taylor Swift was focused on her boyfriend Travis Kelce during the Super Bowl last Sunday, when he helped the Chiefs bring how their third trophy.
But there was apparently one person in the crowd the singer wished wasn’t at the sporting event – Kanye West – and she may have tried her best to get him booted from the event.
During his Paper Route podcast, former NFL wide receiver Brandon Marshall alleged that West strategically acquired seats positioned directly in front of Swift’s suite with the intent of photobombing her televised appearances, possibly as a way to attract attention to his new album Vultures, which had released the day prior.
Swift Allegedly Made Calls To Have Kanye’s Seats Changed

Marshall explained “Swift made ‘a call or two’” to facilitate West’s removal from Allegiant Stadium.
Given their tumultuous history, it’s plausible that Swift could have had influenced the relocation of West’s seat. Their feud traces back to the infamous incident at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, where Kanye notoriously interrupted Taylor’s acceptance speech for Best Female Video, asserting that Beyoncé deserved the award instead. This event ignited years of tension between the two artists.
Their rivalry further intensified in 2016 with the release of Kanye’s song “Famous,” which featured derogatory lyrics about Swift. However, controversy ensued when Kanye claimed that Swift had approved the lyrics, an assertion Taylor has since vehemently denied. The leaked phone call between the two musicians sparked widespread debate and fueled animosity between their fan bases.
In 2018, the feud reignited when Kanye released the track “Famous,” reigniting the controversy surrounding their past interactions. Despite attempts at reconciliation, including an olive branch from Kanye in the form of a public apology, their relationship remained strained.
Kanye Still Managed To Make Waves At The Super Bowl

Notably, West donned his tight black mask (which has become a trademark of his recently), concealing his entire visage, complemented by another black mask featuring a silhouette of Jesus.
Although West’s attempts to disrupt Swift’s spotlight were thwarted, he did manage to garner television exposure during the event. Ye capitalized on the Super Bowl platform by securing a 30-second advertisement slot to promote his Yeezy brand, featuring a low-budget video.
“Hey y’all, this is Ye, and this is my commercial,” Kanye said in the clip, which was filmed in his car. “And since we spent all the money on the commercial spot, we actually – we didn’t spend any money on the actual commercial. But the idea is I want you to go to Yeezy.com.
The rapper has since said the unconventional advertisement helped him sell over $19 million worth of Yeezy products, allegedly saving him form bankruptcy, which he says he would’ve had to declare within a few months if the marketing ploy wasn’t a success.
