If Black Winter were to be the villain in Thor 5, he would pose a big danger to both Thor and Loki.

Thor is one character in the MCU whose storyline and characteristics have been a rollercoaster. From starting with the first two films, we got to see a dark and grim sort of feeling for him, something that did not necessarily work. Moving on to Thor: Ragnarok, which gave a unique twist to this previously tiresome, and introduced humor in a way that worked perfectly.

Things, however, took a turn for the worse through Thor: Love and Thunder, which leaned too much into the humor aspects, making the film difficult to sit through. Starting fresh, it has been decided that the new film to feature this character will adopt a darker tone in a way not seen until now.

With this and the fact that the second season of Loki has just come to an end in the most beautiful of ways, this might be the perfect opportunity for Marvel to introduce one of the odd villains from Marvel comics to this date. The cosmic entity, Black Winter, could make its way into the next film for the God of Thunder

Marvel Could Introduce Black Winter In Thor 5

Black Winter in the Marvel comics was a really good villain, specifically for the storyline of the God of Thunder. Being a cosmic entity from outside the universe, it consumes other realities to survive. To find these realities, it employs Heralds, much like Galactus, in order to find a universe to devour. It can generate frost made out of eldritch darkness, and anything that comes in contact with this gets disintegrated.

In a recent addition of a comic of the God of Thunder, these two characters went head-to-head, making him the perfect villain for Thor 5. On top of this, another reason why Black Winter would be a good addition is the fact that this villain brings a sort of dark theme that the next film is looking for. With this, there is also the fact that this character could lead to a potential reunion between Thor and Loki.

He Could Be A Threat For Loki

In the final episode of Loki’s season two, we saw his character, take the form of the protector of the multiverse. He gathered all the branches from the multi-verse and created a structure that looked similar to a tree. This tree has been heavily talked about in the Marvel franchise, being referred to as Yggdrasil, the World Tree. This encompasses all nine realms according to Asgardian culture.

In the comics, Black Winter infects Yggdrasil, Causing the tree to get destroyed, rotting, and dying. Now that Loki is this tree, personified, Black Winter poses as a direct threat to him. If this villain were introduced in Thor 5, we would see it as an antagonist to both Loki and the God of Thunder, getting us the highly requested reunion for these two characters.
