Nick Jonas showed his bold fashion sense when he was spotted stepping out in New York City this Thursday.

The 28-year-old singer, who is in town to host and perform music on Saturday Night Live this weekend, wore a lavender jacket and matching trousers.

He added to the eye-popping effect of the ensemble by modeling a striped top that featured a black background on one side and a gold one on the other.

Nick flashed a peace sign at onlookers as he hoofed it across the sidewalk and he  made sure to take the precaution of wearing a mask.

His latest outing comes the day that he released his new single Spaceman which is the title song from his upcoming album of the same name.

Although he rose to fame in a boy band with his brothers Kevin and Joe he has also branched out into solo work and Spaceman will be his third album by himself.

In the chorus of his new single he sings that ‘I’m talking to you but it never feels like it comes through. I’m on my own. I’m a spaceman.’

He says he is from ‘the dark side of the moon. I know that it’s sad but it’s true. I’m trying to get home. I’m a spaceman.’

When he released the track he fired up his Twitter and posted what appeared to be the cover for the whole album, which he revealed will be out in March.

The cover art was accompanied by a chart about four specific states of mind: distance, indulgence, euphoria and commitment.

‘So excited to start this journey with all of you. I made this album while doing what most of us have been doing this past year, sitting at home and hoping for better days ahead. There are four themes we will explore on the album… Distance. Indulgence. Euphoria. Commitment,’ he wrote on the social media platform.

Last weekend it emerged that Nick will not only be hosting Saturday Night Live this week but also acting as the musical guest, presumably singing Spaceman.

Since then he has been seen multiple times out and about in New York City where he has been rehearsing for the show.

Meanwhile his wife Priyanka Chopra, who rose to fame in Bollywood before striking out to western movies, is away across the pond.

Priyanka is currently hunkering down in London with her mother Madhu and Nick was previously with them.

She recently began filming her upcoming Amazon Prime series Citadel which was created by the Russo brothers who directed Avengers: Endgame.

The show will star her opposite Richard Madden – who rose to fame on Game Of Thrones playing the brother of Priyanka’s real-life sister-in-law Sophie Turner.
