Klay Thompson, a Golden State Warriors legend known for his incredible shooting, has hung up his Warriors jersey after 13 seasons. With Steph Curry and Draymond Green at his side, Thompson was unbeatable, and the trio went on to win a record-breaking four NBA titles together. After feeling blessed with this incredible journey, Klay is ready to take on new challenges on the court.

Thompson has moved to Dallas, where the team is eager to win a title after a tough loss in the NBA Finals this season. To make a strong scoring trio with Thompson, the Dallas Mavericks have occupied rising star Luka Doncic and newly acquired Kyrie Irving in their new plan.

After an illustrious 13 years in the Bay Area, the 34-year-old openly addressed his departure from the Warriors. He thanked the Warriors and the Bay Area during the Mavs introductory press conference, where he also embraced the excitement of new beginnings.

He said, “Sometimes change can spur greatness, and a new change of scenery can do wonders. I’m very grateful for my time at Golden State, but I just felt like moving on could just re-energize me, and do something special for the rest of my career.”

Now, with a legend like Thompson on board, Team Dallas hopes to build a powerful team capable of clinching the championship for the next season.

Stephen Curry Shares His Thoughts on Klay Thompson’s Move to the Mavericks

Golden State’s star Stephen Curry and his longtime teammate Klay Thompson have been an unstoppable force since 2011, draining threes and racking up four championships together. However, their partnership ended when Thompson signed a three-year deal with the Dallas Mavericks. Curry posted an emotional tribute on Instagram and shared more about his feelings on the change with ESPN’s Malika Andrews this week.

Curry said, “Having Klay head on to Dallas, it’s tough. It’s something I never imagined would be a reality, but you want him to be happy. You want him to be able to enjoy the game of basketball. It does suck losing Klay, there’s no two ways around it. You have to be able to celebrate what we accomplished, but then be able to move on.”
