Arnold Schwarzenegger Revealed Being in a Tough Spot When He Was the Governor
Arnold Schwarzenegger, as Governor of California
Though Arnold Schwarzenegger overcame many challenges in life, being Governor of California once gave him a hard time. It’s because the Austrian Oak struggled to balance his professional and personal life.
When Arnie appeared on Jay Shetty Podcast, he explained that he was in a dilemma when his children demanded more of his time. And he was unable to do it because of his duties as a chief officer of his state.
The Terminator star made some heart-wrenching confessions and said, “So that is devastating when the kids are crying and complaining.” He then revealed:
“I promised the people that they’re No. 1, but I also promised my family. I promised my wife when we had the first child that they were going to be No. 1. So that’s a dilemma.”
But despite this, he devised an idea and implemented it in his life to show more sincerity towards his family. As he explained the idea:
“I committed that instead of flying up to Sacramento on Monday and coming home on Thursday, I would fly up every morning and back every night unless there was a major crisis.”
The Hollywood actor never got enough affection from his father, Gustav Schwarzenegger. But he always made sure that his kids received the love and care that he never received.
Arnold Schwarzenegger Faced Uphill Battles Throughout His Life
Arnold Schwarzenegger’s fans would definitely know that bodybuilding was always something Arnie wished to do in life. But to earn a livelihood, he took on a job as a bricklayer to survive initially.
His life took a turn when his brother died in a car crash. And just a year after, his father passed away from a stroke. At that time, he missed his father’s funeral because he was training for an important competition.
The actor faced criticism for his demeanor, accent, body type, and having such a big name (which was labeled as “not suited” in the Hollywood industry).
But this didn’t deter him from pursuing the career he dreamt for himself. And despite the negative stigma, Schwarzenegger won his first of seven Mr. Olympia titles at 23, too.
In terms of acting, he featured in action roles, which helped him become an icon of action flicks. Despite having no prior experience in politics, the Austrian native moved into a political career. And was elected to become the 38th governor of California in 2003.
