The James Bond series is truly an incredible piece in the cinematic world that continues to fulfill audiences’ expectations.
While the actors portraying the titular character continued to change over the years adding their charm to it, the iconic spy’s legacy remained the same.

The James Bond Franchise Won’t Make TV Spin-offs!

Back in 2021, the James Bond franchise witnessed a major change as Amazon purchased Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), the studio behind iconic cinematic franchises like Rocky, Legally Blonde, and their ultimate treasure, spy series.
The Bond saga has continued to rack profits for the studio given the strong fanbase and enthralling adventures it provided to viewers.
While the deal was still in the negotiation phase, many feared whether the Bond series would be made into spin-offs and shows.
However, franchise producers, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson have the final say given the strong history the Broccoli family shares with the saga.
Speaking with TotalFilm, Broccoli shared,
“We make films. We make films for the cinema. That’s what we do.”
Meanwhile, Wilson further stated,
“We’ve resisted that call for 60 years.”
Given that the duo has been handling the franchise for so long, they are quite determined to keep the cinematic direction rather than taking it to a new approach.
The producers would not be going to get into the TV business anytime soon unlike Keanu Reeves‘ John Wick franchise.
Keanu Reeves’ John Wick Franchise is Already in the Spin-off Business!

Unlike the Bond series, Reeves’ neo-noir action-thriller franchise has already entered into the television world.
Back in 2017, it was announced that a John Wick TV spin-off series was being developed for Lionsgate, later titled The Continental: From the World of John Wick.
Serving as a prequel spin-off to the franchise, it revolves around Winston Scott (Colin Woodell) who rises to become the owner of the eponymous hotel in the John Wick universe. The character was played by Ian McShane in the films.
It has highly impressed the fans whether it be for its plotline, insane action sequences, actors’ performances, or direction with which movies have transversed till now.
This year, Reeves reprised his role in the John Wick: Chapter 4 which went on to become the highest-grossing film in the franchise with $432 million.
Meanwhile, a spin-off is set to release next year on June 7 which is set between the events of 2019’s John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019) and the 2023 movie.
