Arnold Schwarzenegger graced The Tonight Show by Johnny Carson for the promotion of his upcoming film Terminator. On being asked what made him take up bodybuilding, the actor shared,

“What happened was I saw one time a six-foot mirror when I was 15 years old and I looked in the mirror. I was standing there in front of the mirror totally naked and there was one particular part of my body that was bigger than the rest of it.

So I’m a man of perfection, and I said to myself, I got to bring the rest of the body up to the standard of this one part. So, that’s when I started exercising. Very  simple.”

Hearing his answer host and the audience burst out laughing.

“I just got very bored actually with the competition, I’ve wanted it for so many years.
