Actor Sophie Turner said bye-bye to her bright blonde hair in early June and switched things up in favor of a rich auburn red reminiscent of the one she sported as Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones.
Now, if a new photo is to be believed, it appears that Sophie may have gone even darker with her hair color.
While many people go blonde or add lighter tones to their color for summer, Sophie’s current hair color looks almost like a dark brunette. On July 19, the star shared a pic of herself posing next to a wall mural wearing eye-catching red cowboy boots, a black T-shirt and skirt, and ’90s-style black sunglasses. The outfit is great, of course, but we can’t help but wonder if she’s truly gone deeper with her color, if her hair is wet or damp, or if she’s simply wearing more gel or hair product than normal, which can sometimes make your hair look darker than usual. (In the pic, Sophie is wearing her hair pulled tightly back from her face in a braided ponytail, so it’s difficult to see what’s truly going on.)

If we check out more recent pics of Sophie, it seems as though this darker hair may be an illusion or a trick of the light. In a gallery of Paris pics she posted on July 10, her hair is auburn red, though it does look like she may have had the color touched up while in France; it looks lighter in some pics than others. Perhaps the darker shade we’re seeing in her most recent pic is just fresh color — red is notorious for fading quickly so you have to touch it up often to keep it looking vibrant.
Unless she weighs in or shares a more close-up look, there’s truly no way to be sure of Sophie’s exact hair color at the moment, but we do know one thing for sure: Whatever color she is currently sporting, she’s totally rocking it.
