As the Kansas City Chiefs gear up for the 2025 season, some areas remain big question marks, including offensive line concerns and whether Rashee Rice will even be available for Week 1.

Rice was poised for a breakout season in 2024 before a knee injury in Week 4 against the Chargers shut him down. At that point, he had already racked up two 100-yard games and was on pace for 1,600 yards and 11 touchdowns-clear WR1 numbers.

Thankfully, his rehab progress has been nothing short of impressive. Dr. Jeff Mueller, a Doctor of Physical Therapy, recently shared an encouraging update.

“Here is what we call a course-correct. I’ve previously said to Sell. Rashee Rice is putting in WORK to be ready for the 2025 season coming off of LCL, PLC, and hamstring surgeries. Still has 6 months until Wk1 (suspension still pending though). Message received. Buy,” Mueller said.

Rashee Rice’s legal drama

Rice‘s offseason hasn’t been drama-free. His name remains tied up in legal trouble following a March 30, 2024, high-speed crash in Dallas.

The incident involved Rice and former SMU teammate Theodore Knox, who were allegedly street racing down Central Expressway before crashing into multiple cars. Dashcam footage later surfaced showing both players leaving the scene before authorities arrived.

“I take full responsibility for my part in this matter and will continue to cooperate with the necessary authorities,” Rice said.

However, taking responsibility doesn’t mean a quick resolution. His lawyer, Texas Senator Royce West, managed to delay the civil trial until at least June 2, meaning this legal cloud will hang over him well into the offseason.
