The showrunners have introduced new characters, including Urva Rumani, Ruheen Ali Khan and Sushee Parashar. Reports suggested that Rahul Sharma will also join soon and now the actor has himself confirmed the news. He also gave details about his character and what the audience can expect.

Rahul Sharma is set to join Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai as Anshuman and his track is expected to start soon. Speaking about his role, Rahul told Etimes, “I play Anshuman, an affluent businessman. He’s sharp and straightforward in professional matters, which is sometimes mistaken for arrogance. But at heart, he’s a kind and decent man, deeply rooted in family values. Only those close to him truly understand his nature. There are many shades to his character that will unfold gradually.”

Rahul Sharma will have a cameo appearance on the show and he is quite aware that making a connection with the audience would pose a challenge. But he said that he was excited for the opportunity and believes that the audience will like his character. He added, “I’ll do my best to entertain them and contribute meaningfully to the show’s journey. That said, I can’t deny I’m a little nervous show.” Rahul mentioned that while he is always sceptical about joining a show midway, he did not want to give up an opportunity to work with Rajan Shahi. Rahul said, “This is a win-win situation for me and I’m glad to be associated with it.” Rahul is known for his work on shows like Kaal Bhairav Ek Rahasya, Mitegi Lakshman Rekha and more.

The current track of the show revolves around Armaan and Abhira’s life after they have separated from each other. Armaan lives with their daughter, Maira, in Mount Abu. Abhira, on the other hand, is still in search of the little girl. Garvita Sadhwani, Anita Raj, Shruti Ulfat and Mohit Parmar also feature in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Rajan Shahi’s Directors Kut Productions has produced the show for about 16 years.
