Novak Djokovic has two books in the pipeline and one will be an autobiography as he jokingly revealed that he has lot to disclose about “people he will no longer see” after the curtain comes down on his playing career.

Novak Djokovic press conference

As one of the greatest athletes of modern times, Djokovic will no doubt have a lot to share in his autobiography not only about his achievements on the court but also his off-court success and rise as he went from growing up in war-ravaged Serbia to becoming the best men’s tennis player, breaking record after record.

The Serbian, though, has also been involved in a lot of controversial incidents during his distinguished career as he was infamously deported from Australia on the eve of the 2022 season-opening Grand Slam while he also missed several tournaments due to his decision not to get vaccinated against Covid-19.

There was also his disqualification from the 2020 US Open after he accidentally hit a line judge in the throat with a ball.

The tennis great has also had several run-ins with players, officials and spectators over the years so he will no doubt have a lot to say in his autobiography about his rivalries, records and all the contentious moments.

But the bad news for Djokovic fans is that he will only publish an autobiography after he retires.

Before he dishes the dirt in said autobiography, he will release a “continuation” of his first book “Serve To Win: The 14-day Gluten-free Plan For Physical And Mental Excellence”.

“Serve To Win” first hit the shelves in January 2014 and it is clearly time for an update version.

“An autobiography will come. However, before the autobiography, there will be another book that I have already started writing independently, but I will probably need help with all that,” he is quoted as saying in Serbian media.

“It should be a continuation of the book ‘Serve To Win’, it will be about nutrition, recovery, training, so more technical in nature.”

What about the release of his autobiography?

He added: “And the autobiography will come one day, most likely when I finish my career. It will be done, I don’t want to rush it because there is so much to say. A lot will be told, when I am no longer seeing these people – ha ha, just kidding of course!”
