Pink changes Britney Spears lyric in show of support amid singer’s divorce from Sam Asghari
As the Princess of Pop stayed silent about her split on social media — and her estranged husband issued a statement — other A-listers showed their support.
Pink made headlines on Aug. 16 when she tweaked her “Don’t Let Me Get Me” lyrics to honor Spears during a Michigan show.
Instead of singing that she was “tired of being compared to damn Britney Spears,” Pink called her fellow Grammy winner “sweet” in videos captured by concertgoers and shared online.
Paris Hilton’s support was more subtle, as the “Simple Life” alum simply pressed “like” on one of Spears’ unbothered social media uploads.
“Buying a horse soon !!!” she captioned the smiling snap. “So many options it’s kinda hard !!! A horse called Sophie and another called Roar ??? I can’t make up my mind !!! Should I join the camaraderie and put a pink cowboy hat on ??? Either way I think I found my sweet spot with Roar ”
That same day, Octavia Spencer showed herself to also be in Spears’ corner.
In an Aug. 17 Instagram comment, Spencer wrote that “extortion is illegal.”
Even Spears’ ex-husband Kevin Federline, with whom she shares sons Sean Preston, 17, and Jayden, 16, spoke out via his lawyer.
“He wishes her the best,” the statement continued.
As for Asghari, he wrote via Instagram Stories that same day that he will “always … hold onto the love and respect” he has for his estranged wife.
The “Gimme More” singer has been married to Asghari since June 2022.samasghari/Instagram
The model-turned-actor started dating Spears in 2016 after they met on the set of her “Slumber Party” music video, and he got down on one knee in 2021.
When the duo wed the following year, they signed an airtight prenup “in her favor,” Page Six reported in June 2022.
He has denied attempting to renegotiate his prenup, with his rep telling us, “No negative intention has ever been directed towards her and never will be.”
