HAYSVILLE, Kan. (KAKE) – A Haysville teacher and coach was named Chiefs Fan of the Year and gifted a pair of Super Bowl tickets ahead of the season opener at Arrowhead on Thursday.

Kelly Kennedy, a technology teacher at Rex Elementary and swim coach at Campus High School, said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell called him up on stage at the tailgate party. Goddell then announced that Kennedy was the Legacy Seat winner.

“…but then he said that is not all and looked at me and smiled. He then announced to the tailgate crowd that I was the Kansas City Chiefs Fan of the year and told me I was going to the Super Bowl as he handed me two very large tickets,” Kennedy said on Facebook.

Goddell gave Kennedy a Chiefs jersey that says “fan of the year” and the number 23.

“The Chiefs also gave me a football with my name on it,” Kennedy’s post said. “Roger Goodell and Clark Hunt both signed my Super Bowl ticket. Year MADE!!!!!”

Kennedy also posted pictures of him with Donna Kelce, mother of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, as well as Roger Goodell.
